Maria Stevens - Legal Secretary

 

Maria Stevens joined Horizon Elder Law & Estate Planning, Inc. in September of 2009. As our Legal Secretary, Maria works alongside with Attorney Julie Fiedler in drafting Estate Planning documents and assisting clients in the initial stages of planning. As a commissioned California Notary Public; Maria is the primary notary for the law firm. As she pursues her college education and ultimately her paralegal certificate, Maria has become increasingly involved in the legal work, benefits applications and various projects to enhance our services.

For much of her life, Maria dealt with her own mother’s struggle with Parkinson’s Disease, including her care at home, placement in a Board and Care facility and her final days in hospice care. It is because of this personal experience that Maria shares a unique connection with our clients and their families.

Maria’s compassion for others extends to her personal pursuits. For the past nine years Maria has been a volunteer for the Ride a Wave Foundation, Inc., which affords a unique opportunity for children with special needs to enjoy ocean surfing and other water activities. Ride a Wave enables the children to experience a day without limitations.
